Cadi joined chambers as a tenant following the successful completion of her pupillage in July 2009 in the areas of Crime (Geraint Walters) and Family (Libby Harris).


Cadi read Law and Welsh at Cardiff University and successfully completed the Bar Vocational Course at Cardiff Law School obtaining 10 Outstanding marks and an overall Outstanding grade. She was awarded the Temple Chambers Prize for outstanding performance in advocacy and was called to the Bar in July 2008 by Gray's Inn.


Cadi is a fluent Welsh speaker and has conducted cases through the medium of Welsh. She successfully completed the Welsh Advocacy course at Cardiff Law School and is happy to undertake instructions in both English and Welsh.

Crime
Cadi is regularly instructed to undertake both Prosecution and Defence work and has experience of conducting trials in the Magistrates and Crown courts. She undertakes all aspects of Criminal Law and frequently appears in the Crown Court on matters including bail applications, sentence hearings, breaches, and appeals against conviction and sentence. She has experience of conducting jury trials and frequently appears for the Crown and Defence in trials of issue.


Cadi is regularly instructed by SERCO to prosecute electronic tagging breaches, and by the Department of Work and Pensions in relation to matters of financial benefit. She also undertakes hearings in relation to the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and has experience of dealing with young offenders in the Youth Courts.

Family
Cadi's family practice encompasses both private and public law matters. She has experience of conducting injunctive applications and contested hearings, in particular final hearings in private residence and contact matters appearing for both Applicants and Respondents. She is rapidly developing a practice in Children Act proceedings and is instructed on behalf of parents and guardians in care proceedings. Cadi accepts instructions in ancillary relief matters as well as injunctive applications.

Civil
Cadi accepts instructions in a wide variety of civil litigation. She regularly appears in the County Court in a range of civil matters from infant approval settlements to small claim and fast track trials particularly in personal injury claims. She also appears at Immigration and Benefit tribunals.
