Catrin joined Chambers as a tenant in September 2011 following successful completion of her pupillage under the supervision of Libby Harris.


Education and Qualifications
Catrin read Law at Cardiff University, graduating with an upper second class honours, before successfully completing the Bar Vocational Course at Cardiff Law School, achieving an overall Outstanding grade. Catrin was called to the Bar by Gray's Inn in July 2010.

A fluent Welsh speaker, Catrin successfully completed the Welsh Advocacy course at Cardiff Law School, and is happy to accept instructions through the medium of Welsh.


Family
Catrin accepts instructions in both private and public law matters. She regularly undertakes work on behalf of both Applicants and Respondents, and has represented parents in care proceedings. She has conducted interim and final hearings at both the Family Proceedings Court and County Court. Catrin also undertakes work in respect of injunctive applications and applications for financial remedies.


Civil
Catrin accepts instructions in a range of civil matters, and appears for both Claimants and Defendants. She regularly appears in County Court trials, insolvency hearings, possession actions and interlocutory applications. Catrin also accepts instructions in employment law and Social Security Tribunal matters. Catrin's paperwork practice includes drafting pleadings and advising on matters relating to trusts, agricultural law, landlord and tenant issues, personal injury, and contract disputes.


Crime
Catrin is regularly instructed to undertake both Prosecution and Defence work in both the Crown Court and Magistrates' Court, accepting instructions in all areas of criminal law. She has conducted a number of summary trials in respect of a variety of offences, and frequently appears in the Crown Court on matters including appeals against conviction and sentence, bail applications and sentences. In addition, Catrin is frequently instructed by SERCO to prosecute breaches of electronically monitored curfew requirements in both the Crown and Magistrates' Courts.
