Area of Practice - Crime
Geraint Walters joined Chambers in 1982 and was elected Head of Chambers in 2002. He has by now an exclusively Criminal Law practice representing both the Prosecution and the Defence. He has appeared in a number of high profile cases including murders, child abuse cases and large money frauds. He is specifically approved by the Crown Prosecution Service to conduct rape cases.
He has been a category 4 prosecutor for many years and has conducted cases on behalf of the Director of Public Prosecutions and other prosecution Heads of Department. He is regularly instructed by both the Dyfed Powys Police and South Wales Police legal departments.
He is Welsh speaking and has been actively engaged in promoting and facilitating the use of Welsh in the Courts being frequently instructed to conduct such cases.
He is a member of the Criminal Bar Association and presently serves on the Management Board of the Welsh Circuit.
